Tim Holtz Tattered Floral's Challenge!

Good Morning!
I'm back again a day earlier than expected with a little something extra to share with you all!
Over the past month Tim Holtz has had another challenge on his blog alongside his monthly tag called the Tattered Floral's Challenge!

But you'l have to be quick if you want to join in as the deadline is today!
I wanted to share with you all what i came up with for the challenge but before I do here is a little brief about what the actual challenge is ...
Using the Tim Holtz die 'Tattered Florals' create your own pins that can be attached to clothing / cards / tags!
Tim used a combination of Tissue Wrap covered Grungeboard & Canvas for his floral pins but I have combined Tissue Wrap covered Grungeboard, Kraft Glassline ( this is basically a wax covered paper) and Cheesecloth for mine!

To begin with I cut a piece of Grungeboard and some Tissue Wrap to the same size. I spread some PVA Glue over the Grungeboard and pressed the Tissue Wrap down on top. After leaving to dry I then spread some Distress Paints onto my Mat that I then sprayed liberally with water and pressed the Tissue Wrapped Grungeboard into. I did this about three or four times to create more of a mottled effect but it is completely up to personal choice how many times you do this.

Once this has dried and you are happy with the look run the grungeboard through your Die Cutting Machine with the Tattered Florals Die and repeat this with some Kraft Glassline. Crumple the die cuts from the Kraft Glassline to get this gorgeous cracked look! Finish each Die Cut by inking the edges with Distress Ink.

Next I have cut 3 pieces of cheesecloth and started to layer up the flowers, held together with Metal Fasteners.

To make my flowers a little bit different from each other I have painted some Metal Foliage Embellishments with Distress Paints which I have then added to the centres. You may recognise this technique from the March Tag!

Once finished you can choose whether you attach them to clothing, altered art or if you would rather use them as embellishments like I have done on a card! I attached them to the card using Glossy Accents and I kept the design of the card clean and simple as I wanted the main focus to be on the flowers.
