Public Sleeping Day -28th February

February 28th is the annual Public Sleeping Day. That means today, wherever you are, sleep, nap, doze, snooze, rest your eyes, inspect the back of your eyelids or watch a movie on the inside of your eyes. Today is your day! (Sounds like my kind of day!!)
All this cold weather makes me yearn for summer, as that is a long way off, I’ll have to make do with  a summery image of this cute cat in a rather novel hammock!

To make:
Take a piece of white A4 card and fold it in half to make a landscape A5 card blank. Glue a rectangle of patterned paper onto a slightly larger rectangle of brown/Kraft to fit onto the card blank.  As I do not own a cutting machine that will take an A4 piece of card, I cut out the aperture in two stages. Using the largest die in the ‘Labels 25’ set, run the patterned paper and brown/Kraft card through your cutting machine. Then use this as a template to draw the shape on the front of the card blank and cut out. Then, using the die as a template, draw around it (inside and outside) onto brown/Kraft card and cut out , this makes the the frame to go around your aperture. Glue everything onto the card blank.

Cut a piece of card the same length as the card blank x 4”, score at 1” intervals along the long side and fold mountain, valley style. Glue the first fold onto the inside of the back of the card blank. Decorate the inside with patterned paper which will hide the join. (I used the same die to cut out an aperture in the paper so that the image stands out against it).

Stamp and colour the image. Draw an extra few centimetres of ‘rope’ on either side and then carefully cut out the image.
Stamp the image again onto some of the patterned paper, cut out the bra cups and glue to the image. Stick the ends of the rope onto the inside of the front of the card blank so that the image hangs in the middle. Glue the fourth fold of the concertina to the inside of the front of the card and your card should stand up like a tent. Decorate the front of your card with embellishments and/or sentiments of your choice.
