Vintage Father Christmas-beginner

Hi Everyone

I am Sue, part of the design team and over the coming weeks myself and Natalie will be bringing you different tips and techniques for your crafting, together with hot gossip from the crafting world.
If you would like to pop by my personal blog you can have a peek here:
Today I have made a card suitable for a beginner with the slapstick Penny Black Antique Santa.  This stamp I shall be using as the main theme all week and making a beginner, intermediate and advanced type of project. Anyone can have a go at the cards and I love to recycle!.  The card is a 6 x 6 ins square.

Items needed:
Piece of denim (I used an old pair of children's jeans purchased from a car boot sale for 50p!)
Blue Cardstock
White and Ebony WOW embossing powder
Corner punch
Fluffy bobbles ribbon
Piece of Backing paper
Sewing machine

1. Stamp out the Santa in black ink onto a piece of ironed denim.
2. Attach this to a piece of cardstock
3. Stamp in versamark the sunburst stamp followed by white embossing powder and heat set on the blue card.  Use a corner punch.

4. Glue together the image and backing card then get a sewing machine or stitch by hand around the edge of the denim.

5. Take a strip of backing paper and stamp the 'lines' in black archival onto it.
6. Stamp 'joy to the world' onto blue card with versamark and sprinkle black embossing powder over it and heat set.
7. Place the backing paper down first, then the strip of bobble ribbon then the stamped background then the words.
8. Ink around the edges giving it a vintage look.

Happy Crafting,  Sue
