More for your Money

When I started reorganising and moving my Craft Room I realised just how much money I had spent over the years on crafting goodies and how many of the items that I had bought I just hadn’t used,  I am sure we are all guilty of this, lots of the products I had bought when I first started cardmaking had been used time and again, and I realised it was because I now have too much stuff and for the last few years I had just used the newest additions to my stash then moved on to the next purchases leaving lots of rubba and paper unused and forgotten, and not getting the most out of my purchases.  Card making is not a cheap hobby so I thought I would share a few tips with you, especially new crafters, on getting the most use from your stamps and Dies, and I will try to follow the tips myself lol.

When you first get your new stamps, ink and stamp them 3 or 4 times, colour up a couple in different shades it is amazing how different a single image can look when just by changing the colour scheme,  keep the other stamped images in a folder so they are there when next you want to use them and keep the folder near your craft table or desk.  The same goes for Dies cut the shapes in lots of different colours and file them somewhere handy.   The two cards I have for you today have been made using the above principals.

Both have been made with Wild Rose Studio Annabelle’s Christmas Stamp Annabelle with Gifts, the first card has sweet Pink and Blue Colour Scheme, she was coloured with Copics, I will list the colours at the end of the post.  The papers are from my Paper Stash and are by My Minds Eye,

I have cut the image with Spellbinders the largest die from,Labels 18 (here is another tip) when you have to use the biggest of the nesties set to cut your image  and you would like a matching border, it is really easy to achieve, Just Draw around the Largest Die with a pencil on the coloured card you have chosen and cut out see how I have done the border for this image below:

The Marianne Dies  used on the card are: Ribbon Weaving Star Border, and Snowflake.  I have added 5mm Self Adhesive Pearls to the middle of each snowflake.

Frosted lace Stickles  has been used on the fur around her hair and the snow on the ground, I have used White Opal Liquid Pearls for the falling snowflakes.

The second card is a more contemporary colour scheme:

Again I have used the Ribbon Weaving Star Border and Snowflake dies this time cut from Brown Card.

This time I have used a Quckie Glue Pen and Crystal Glamour Dust for the fur on her hat and coat and the falling snow.  I have added True Snow to ground the image.
