Technique Tuesday - Serendipity

Hi Everyone

Sue here

Today we are going to be serendipity-ing!  This technique is all about using up your scraps of backing paper.

Firstly get a few scraps in the same colour tone.  I chose brown/beige.

Then stamp onto them a swirl, flower stamp anything you like really in versamark and then heat set with an embossing powder of your choice.  I chose the Heartfelt creations Poinsettia spray and WOW gold embossing powder.

The cut this image up into random pieces, not too small but enough for some of the backing paper to show through the stamped image.

Then get a piece of cardstock(I chose A6) and PVA glue stick pieces of the backing paper onto it randomly.  Let the piece dry.  I then cut a spellbinder Labels 21 shape from it.  I took the same shape and drew around the edge in another cardstock colour and cut this out.  This gives a slightly bigger die shape for a layer/matt.

I then die cut the Marianne creatables elegant lady   in burgundy cardstock.

The backing card was the same colour and on this I put some versamark and sprinkled stampendous aged ivory embossing enamel and  scarlet fragments and heat set from underneath the cardstock so the powders would not blow off.  They melt into each other.

I then put the card together.

As you can see it is up to you what backing papers and stamps you choose, each time you will get a different effect.  Try ripping the papers instead of cutting them.

Happy crafting

Sue
