Today we have details of how to make this fantastic Tag designed by Sue using lots of fabulous Sizzix Dies

Hi Everyone

Today I am using two of the sizzix dies.  One is the Tim Holtz Alterations Autumn Gatherings and the other is the Tim Holtz Alterations movers and shapers big tag and bookplates.  Both of these are wonderful dies which can be used for lots of different projects....watch this space.
Firstly you need to die cut the tag and bookplate.  I chose the round bookplate for this project.  The tag I cut from mount board which is strong and can withstand quite a lot of altering.  The autumn die I ran though my
big shot at least 4 times with different coloured papers, some I coloured with distress inks, others I left.  The bookplate I coloured with distress inks and added brads to the holes in the ends and stamped a saying on it in memento ink in black.

The tag's first coating was with a dotty stamp and a glue stick.  Run the glue over the stamp and press it firmly onto the tag.  The dots should stamp out onto the tag in glue. Take a distress ink and with a piece of cut and dry foam, or blending tool, go over the tag and glue with the ink.  The result is a distressed looking tag picking up ink, darker in some places than others.  Leave to dry whilst you run your stamp under the tap with some soapy water and a brush to clean off.  Next go around the edges of the tag in the same ink making it darker.

I then took two small strips of another backing paper and glued this onto each side of the tag, distressing the edges and leaving a gap in the middle for the foliage.
Then you can start to add the autumn gatherings.  Do not be too careful with the placing of the individual items as the more hap hazzard it is, the better.  When you're happy, glue down with
cosmic shimmer acrylic glue.

If you like your composition but don't think the original paper colours go well...never fear.  BIG TIP get a cosmic shimmer spray or other mica spray of your choice and spray all over the tag (not too much, a couple of squirts will do).  All the project items then work/blend together because it has become variations on the same colour palette.  This works for any project you are doing.

Finish off with the bookplate glued onto the tag.
Happy crafting this week
Sue
